  • New web site administrator

As announced in Pitstop I have volunteered to take over from Cameron as web administrator.

I am a reluctant volunteer. Although I worked in computers for most of my career web administration is outside of my experience. So please remember that I might not be very good but I am excellent value for money. If at any time anybody realises that they could do a better job I will gladly hand over the reins.

I take over at a point where the club is trying to introduce new features to the website to enable payments to be made on line. This was implemented at the beginning of the year and has thrown up a number of unanticipated problems. These problems have been discussed in other threads. Although they are fixable it is going to require some thought and time to implement. As with any change there is a possibility that yet more unexpected problems may (almost certainly will) happen. Please be patient with us (me) as we try to get things working to the high standard that MOC member have come to expect.

If you find problems in the meantime please send me a message or email and I will do my best to solve it.

    Paul Carey

Thankyou Paul for stepping up to take over from Cameron. I see the web site and forum as central to the functioning of the club. The committee sometimes gets a rough ride from the members when things go wrong but I for one appreciate all the hard work that you do.

      My sentiments too.
Well done Paul, and I hope you are able to take pleasure from keeping the Forum up and running and giving a lot of pleasure to a lot of members (and non-members).

Hi Paul, as I said in Pitstop, welcome aboard. I too was a reluctant volunteer for the editor's role but I now enjoy it even though there is a bit more work to it than many realise or maybe that's just down to my barely adequate PC skills. We are all volunteers at the role we do and haven't necessarily had any training or experience for what we do. We do it because we love the club and everything associated with it but we will never be able to please everyone all the time. I know that the committee and the vast majority of the club members will recognise your situation and will be very patient. Once again, thanks for helping out.

Many thanks to Paul for taking on this work - it is great fun and you get to talk with some lovely people. I will be still here for the foreseeable future to support Paul and the committee in any way I can. I am looking forward to Paul's input and enthusiasm keeping the club going. My personal thanks to you Paul.
