  • Photobucket site no longer allows 3rd party links...

If any of you like I have been using the photobucket site to host images and then use the links to said images on forums such as this - then you'll likely find they are gone... Photobucket has decided to stop 3rd party links now unless the members there pay some $400 for the privilige... So I deleted 200pics last night & won't be returning there again. Its a pita because it was such a useful method of displaying pics in posts to add detail and interest... Now I'm looking for a replacement free pics hosting site..

Hence all my pics in posts now (an d probably most other members too) will be missing.

Reckon PB have shot themselves in the foot as this will hugely impact so many people out there & few will feel it reasonable to fork out that sum...

Not the first time I've heard of this sort of thing

My many many thousands of Marlin pix are all on (backed up and duplicated ) external hard drives. I save the originals, and use a simple programme to
produce resized smaller images (saved separately again) to put on here

Yes - exactly what I do - though I used to load a resized copy to PB and then put the link to it in the post.. Some forums let you load resized copies direct in as attachments... but if all members were doing that it'd soon add up in occupied space on the server drive.
