Gone from eBay. I guess the owner must have got an offer he couldn't refuse.

Back up, different ID, seems eBay complained so re-listed.

Nutts Performance seem to be making a habit of buying Marlins off eBay and relisting at a premium. Now on Car and Classic at £5,990: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C903453

I suppose the only way to stop this profiteering is to not buy the car, and to advertise as we are doing, that it might have doubled in price from what the dealer paid to the selling price.
When I had the garage we would buy cars, do work on them, and sell them on at a profit it is business after all. But we will probably never know what was paid, and if any work was carried out to make it fit for sale

Re: Ford 2.3 V6 SWB Roadster for sale

This one sold via eBay for just over £3500. So that's nearly double!

He had the grey YKC car (also marked up a lot) for a long time but someone eventually bought it, so he's spotted a good line of business.

Good luck if he can sell it, I wish I could buy and sell at that markup in IT, we're lucky if we get 5%!

Does start to push all the prices up though, good for our members selling, bad for us if buying!

Re: Ford 2.3 V6 SWB Roadster for sale

I know of a least two other Roadsters sold by dealers with c. £5,000 asking prices so it seems there are the buyers out there but, as I said on the thread about the grey car, they want the comfort of buying from a dealer. Maybe the Club should open a showroom!!

Re: Ford 2.3 V6 SWB Roadster for sale

Well in balance private sellers do not have the overheads of a professional dealer and who knows he may well sell it with some limited warranty, that will be attractive to some and drive the price up. Plus its a fair world in that this car was for sale on the open market and we all had the same opportunity to buy it.

Its his car now and up to him as to how much he will try to get for it. I wouldn't be tempted at his prices mind.

Marlin sales. Isn't that what Danny Nelson does for members?

Interesting to compare this one with the red 2.3 YKC Roadster that's for sale at £6,500. http://www.marlinownersclub.com/foru...ar-and-Classic and on eBay

As a dealer, he has come back for six months on a car he sells, it is causing problems for dealers, and in some ways is causing cheap bangers to get crushed, as it not worth the risk for a dealer

May be not such a big problem with classic/kit car type cars which will most likely be relatively low mileage after purchase.
Particularly if the vehicle is checked well before purchase then again thoroughly before sale and any potential defects are rectified
