  • Fuel pump for mk2 1300 a series

    OK bit weird.

Below is the fuel pump which has just come off my engine.

Says it's a AUF 708, which was used on the MGC and Austin 3ltr?

According to my parts manual it should be a AUF 804 which looks nothing like this, HELP! !

The AUF 804 has two barrels.

    Does anyone have one?

AUF802 or 804 not sure. My auto data manual shows the same pump.

I have and they don't do the 708 and they are out of stock of the 804.

The 708 obviously worked as it was the original and they say that the 804 is what they would suggest.

Now I just need to find either.

Beware whatever you buy that does not come from Sucarb. They are sure that the long term modern ethanol fuels are compatible.

That's why I am asking here first, unfortunately as I said SU don't have what I need.

The reason for wanting another one is the the pipes the take the in and out spin round in their holes and fuel has started to leak from them.

Not safe as the pump is very close to the exhaust downpipe.

So again I request, does anyone have a spare?

I understand, but unless the spare pump came fro Sucarb, it may have a limited lifespan as others have found out to their cost.

Your choice as always, proven compatibility, or a gamble. Buyer beware!

                      Steve

I trust the forum members would not pass on, as I wouldn't do, any kit that they thought would be defective unless they were not sure.

I hope someone might come up with something.

Thanking all in advance for their help.

I will see if I can contact the seller, my German is rubbish, but it's worth trying.

                        Thanks

                              Hi all

Spoke with Burlan again and an old timer who's worked there for some 30 years or more told me that the AZX 1818 will work as the only difference is the orientation of the inlet and outlet.

As that is not a problem as long as the rubber fuel pipes are not to close to the engine block, I have ordered one and will let everyone know if it works.

I am looking to put a heat sheild round it, ala MGB, to keep it cooler anyway.
