    Re: broken marlin, still

    Hi Phil.
what year was it built: regesterd?

I live in France and i'm looking for a rebuild project so if you want to sell let me know.
    I would need a V5 so don't lose it.

      the car is registered as:

      • Vehicle make MARLIN ROADSTER
      • Date of first registration 15 January 1974
      • Cylinder capacity (cc) 1292cc
      • CO₂Emissions Not available
      • Fuel type PETROL
      • Vehicle status Not taxed
      • Vehicle colour BLUE
      • Vehicle type approval Not available
      • Wheelplan 2 AXLE RIGID BODY

if its worth restoring it...you must decide yourselves...considering the market value of such cars its not worth doing any restoration work...you will invest more on long term than buying a nice one, which you can drive (enjoy) immediately

if spannering is for fun and joy...than do it....

the "only" value i can see if it goes for export....kitcars with the correct "make" and an old reg-date are interesting for france, italy, spain.

if i would have somebody from this country knocking my door, i would ask 2500pound for it...selling inside UK will generate a few hundred pound only.(less than 500,-)

@patkins: buy it...clean it , try to get engine running....sell it abroad..and the money earned would buy a nice one for UK road use...

saying that, a non - mot'd roadster sold on ebay for over £1500 just recently. A good price - and disappointing to me as I had bid well lower! It was one of our forum members cars - Appliedthought Item number 251887819700

Hi Phil, The car comes up correct on the DVLA system so I would keep a copy of the V5 and the send off as new owner and declare it SORN until you get it on the road and MOT'd. Come on dont sell it, fix it and enjoy.
Ben Caswell probably not the last word on anything here!!
