  • Greasing Driveshaft UJs

This is a job I've been putting off, but it's very important, so today was the day.
Got the car up on ramps with one rear wheel jacked a little so it can be turned, the problem is that the business end of most if not all grease guns are to big to fit between the parts of the universal joints to make contact with the nipple.
The solution is to grind a couple of flats on the end of the grease gun applicator and then round it off a little, fortunately I had a spare one, I got a little carried away with the first attempt.
UJs now have some fresh grease, what I can't understand is that why I did not do this last year when I had the prop shaft in my hand when I change the final drive unit from a 3.91:1 to a 3.38:1 ?

Have a look on eBay, you can ger longer grease nipples. Fitted them on my roadster propshaft when I built it. Greasing no problem.

Have ordered a couple, I think it's a good solution. Thanks. Tony.
