  • romero, julietta roadster -common parts

In the early stages of a romero build and have not been able to get in contact with Aquila, though Don Burt has been fantastic. Does anyone know wether the windscreen is the same for a roadster as for the julietta/romero?
ALso, I have managed to find a new/old stock petrol tank for a mk2 escort estate - is there a better alternative. What other parts are directly transferable?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Cameron

I have mailed you some info, some of it will be a bit out of date already. You have probably come to the same conclusion already but you ought to be aware that Aquila have been inordinately difficult to communicate with. We suspect the company's direction therefore if you can get outside help from anywhere, continue to do so as it appears doubtful you will get much from Aquila themselves.

I BELIEVE the windscreen to be the same in both the New roadster[Sierra based] and the Romero/Julietta but cannot say for definate that it's same as one in old marina based cars. The only known alternative[to me] fuel tank was the 12 gallon one made by Ykc in Stainless, and one produced by a member for which I think i have drawings somewhere.

thanks this is most helpful. I have got a set of plans from Don Burt and have found tha Hadrian still make the escort tanks, they cost about £75+vat. I have seen others available on the net for about£50 but stock levels seem depleted.
        Aquila - hmmm.
Useful info on the glass thanks.

          Help
I bought a Julietta from YKC in 2004 and i am told that the ECU (dimensional) needs replacing. Does anyone know the type and where i could get one from?
At the moment i'm rapidly going nowhere!

          Cheers Paul
