  • Roadster Side Exit Exhaust

My TC plans are currently being frustrated..!Despite Don's best efforts YKC are not presently able to supply a side-exit downpipe for an 1800 TC Roadster. So my question to the Forum is whether anyone can recommend an exhaust specialist they have used recently who might have a pattern for a side-exit system. Failing which does anyone have one they no longer require?

    Thanks.

Side exit header? I have a side exit exhaust on my TC and that uses a MGB cast iron manifold. The original cast item apparently flows much better than most of the replacement mild steel/stainless steel jobies as well

If you want pictures/dimensions of the system on my car (my understanding is the silencer/connecting pipe is from YKC/Marlin) email me via www.stefancarlton.net/index.php?type=contact (or indeed just reply to one of my previous emails )

Sorry to highjack your post Jez.
I also urgently need a side exhaust down pipe/ or system but for a single carb 1800 manifold. If anybody has one I would be very pleased to hear from them. Roger(at)dudley100.freeserve.co.uk

        No worries Roger...
Stefan - I have the standard MGB manifold but it's the 2-1 link to the silencer I need and which YKC are currently unable to supply.

Desperate times call for desperate measures...maybe someone with a factory-fit TC exhaust, whose vehicle is perhaps off the road, would be prepared to lend me their downpipe for a few days to get it copied...? Obviously I'd cover any out of pocket expenses and maybe contribute a little to their beer fund...
Roger - I could make my current SC downpipes available for you to get copied...you'd still need a manifold and silencer though. Andy Morris the former Marina OC secretary is local to me and has shedloads (literally) of Marina spares - maybe he could help you out with a manifold. Used to be AJMARINA"at"AOL.COM (or maybe AJMMARINA can't remember).

            Hi Jez,
just sorting exactly the same problem and have come across a great guy in Buckingham, he can manufacture anything and at a reasonable cosy his name is Graham tel no is 01280 847756, as far as manifolds etc go he could even bend you up a sporting option. Their is also a four branch tubular manifold on ebay. search exhaust manifolds.

If its any help Graham Frankland 01280 847756 was also recommended to me. In the end however for my single downpipe system I used Walker exhaust parts - 1 90 deg bend and 2 45deg bends and a silencer that I already had. These are obtainable from most parts suppliers at about ?2.50 each.
