  • The 3rd annual Chiltern Challenge treasure hunt found the sun again

Sunday saw 6 cars go off to find the answers to 37 clues in a 21 mile route that took in some of the beautiful countryside in the Chiltern Hills. Folk came from as far as Litchfield and Chelmsford and once again we were lucky to be blessed with a day of sunshine. The route took in Kop Hill at Princes Risborough, used for a recently resurrected annual hill climb and offering superb views across the Vale of Aylesbury. Also visited was the little known Lyde Garden in Bledlow, a beautiful and serene almost secret garden owned by Lord Carrington but left open for the public to enjoy. The event finished off with a BBQ under a gazebo that had been erected as an insurance policy in case of rain but true to Chiltern Challenge form it came in handy as a sun screen. Where to next year I wonder?
