I have just fitted a Rover v8 engine and gearbox into my YKC Roadster and need to change the Diff ratio to 3.14-1, I believe that I need one from an early diesel Sierra drum brake rear. Has anyone any information whether my information is correct EVEN better where I may acquire one at a fair price ??

    Hi John
The info I have suggest that the diff ratio is 3.13:1 and it was used on a 1.6L 4 speed
The crown wheel has 47 teeth and the pinion 15
One problem you may have is that the 1.6L used 18mm dia shafts. 25mm dia shafts were used on 2.0L butthe lowest ratio for these was 3.38:1.
I use this on my V8 Cabrio together with 205*65x15 tyres. Hope this helps

      Hi Derek
Many thanks for the advice, I have been trying without success to locate a 3.14 crownwheel and pinion set. I currently have 205x50x15 tyres at least I have a high revving system and lots of burnt rubber.
A firm in Sheffield called Classic Conversions used to advertise 3.14 CP sets but seem to be unobtainable??
      Thanks again JOHN
