  • Ford MT75 gearbox speedo connector gone floppy

The brass insert that the speedo cable connects to is flapping about and I think the cause of an oil leak. Does anyone remember whether it is held in place by a circlip or if it is some sort of bolted in fitment. I am working blind at the moment but my options are

    a) drill out an inspection hole in the side of the tunnel
    b) remove the side of the tunnel
    c) unbolt the gearbox rear support beam and see if I can lower the engine on a jack enough to get at it
    d) buy an electronic speedo

I favour a) or c) but my decision really depends on how it is fixed

iirc the standard speedo cable has a bell shaped end which is retained by a large circlip holding it all together. I have one in the pit that should be a garge somewhere
PS MT75 manual now online in the build manual section
