  • battery placement

My recently aquired roadster has its battery under the dash board above the transmission tunnel. I understand it was originally positioned in the back of the car, as I would like to move it from its current position can anyone tell me if it is safe in the 'boot' or will it have to be directly behind one of the seats ?

    Re: battery placement

The battery normally sits eithed ontop of the bulk head centrally just in front of the firewall or set into it above the passenger footwell. If the car has used a escort tank it may be possible to get one to fit in the space beside it.But you will need to constuct a strong box for it and the cost of cable to run the feed foreward will cost a bit.Have a look at a few other cars first.
Ben Caswell probably not the last word on anything here!!
