  • NEC Show November 12th-16th

Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show NEC 13th -15th November 2015.

(Please note that a March deadline set by the organisers prompts this enquiry to assess interest in advance of committee discussions and that involvement is subject to suitable additional club insurance also being established).

With favourable comments from visitors to past NEC Classic exhibitions and the decline of kit-specific shows this event may be of interest.
However, the requirements for exhibiting vehicles indoors are much stricter than for the outdoor shows with which many of us are familiar: -

    • Vehicles have to be set up on a stand on Thursday 12th November and remain in place until the evening after the show ends on Sunday 15th November. (If not removed by 22:00 hours they may be collected the following morning on Monday 16th November.)

    • Fuel tanks need to be empty or at an absolute minimum level with filler caps being locked or taped. Batteries have to be disconnected. (The organisers will forward an exhibitor’s instruction manual giving further details to confirmed participants.)

    • The organisers insist that club areas are non-commercial:-
“KEEPING CLUB STANDS NON-COMMERCIAL: Clubs are reminded that club stands are offered free of charge on the understanding that Clubs do not undertake any atypical commercial activity at the event.
For clarity, this means that clubs are permitted to sell their own club merchandise or branded goods so long as this is a normal club activity; but this should be secondary to your vehicle display. You are only permitted to sell spare parts if this an on-going enterprise run wholly by club members for club profit and does not involve a commercial third party. You are not permitted to lend any part of a club stand to any commercial company or to sell or promote anything from a club stand that is not a part of normal club activity. Commercial branding or commercial sales personnel are strictly prohibited from Club stands. It is also prohibited to advertise the private sale of any vehicle from a Club stand.”

    • The club’s application does not guarantee that we will be allocated a stand.

Firm expressions of interest with details of your car required by Saturday 14th March please.
Kindly telephone or (by preference) email your name and contact details – I’m anticipating that email may be the most widely acceptable channel for the further discussions that will no doubt follow!
