It closed with no bids even though a starting price of £1500 thought there would be some interest out there.

It nees a lot of work to finish. If I had the time and money I'd have put a bid on it...

It could be built to IVA requirements and registered with its MAC

Re: Cabrio for sale - Project

Looks like a really good solid base to start from......as for the Roadster, well that looks like it needs a little more tlc.

It looks like it needs a complete rebuild a good project for anyone with the time to take it on.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and not yet an owner/member. Re the Cabrio , what is the problem? Is IVA that big a deal, What is MAC ? I am asking what may seem idiot questions because when I built my Locust in '94 it was pre IVA and the Cabrio only has couple of days to run and still no bids. I dropped out of the Roadster bidding it fetched £700+. Cheers Dave

Re: Cabrio for sale - Project

IVA is an VOSA test, there is a link to the manual on this site http://www.marlinownersclub.com/foru...ent-IVA-Manual Its big and needs to be gone through carefully. You have to take the car to a VOSA test station. The test costs £450, with a £90 re-test fee if it fails. My Cabrio was the first to go through IVA, first time it failed in radii tests and speedo inaccuracy.
Factor in the cost of the test when making your decision!

Re: Cabrio for sale - Project

MAC is the Ministry Approval Certificate which you get once the car has passed the IVA and you can then register it. The cabrio is perfectly capable of going through IVA and guys like Chris and Mike and others will happily give you all the help and guidance you need with everything. Download the manual (I printed it out and got a pen to mark it up) and enjoy the bed time reading. A careful build will result in you having a wonderful car for reasonable cost and the knowledge that you "built it yourself". go for it!!!

                              Hi Dave
If you want to look at an up and running Cabrio before bidding let me know. I am in Sandbach about half an hour from you and would be happy to run it across to you at short notice. Also have you looked at Mikes excellent Cabrio build and adventures with getting it through IVA.
                              Regards
                              Dave Clutterbuck
