  • Ceramic distributor cap socket (suppressor?)

I have busted the middle ceramic socket that the coil HT lead plugs into on the distributor cap on my Ford 2.0 EFi DOHC type N9 engine. Am I correct in assuming it is a suppressor? Any ideas as to where I can get a replacement ?

My distributor cap is like this but each lead is conected via a ceramic cap and rubber cover and it is the ceramic connector that I have broken

It has just occurred to me that they were installed to stop interference on old analog radio and tv transmission systems. Now that everything is pretty much digital are they necessary i.e. can I just leave them out?
