  • New sportster owner

Hi all. Just taken ownership of a 2.0L Triumph straight 6 Marlin. Have been out today and getting really used to her unique handling etc.love it and want to sort out some little bits and pieces so will need some advice along the way. Might start with the interior and wiring needs looked at. A wee oil leek on the engine and paint needs renewed but it's all down to cost!

Afraid to say that if it's Triumph based, it's going to be a Roadster, not a Sportster.
A picture or two would show. But whatever, enjoy the car.

Yes that's a Triumph based Roadster, looks like an early one with the Triumph rear end. Nice car, mine is Vitesse 2ltr based.
        - 9th owner of T693 SSC possibly a factory built Ford based V8 Sportster
        - 4th owner of Q309 RNV, an early Cabrio built by Bob Copping, owned Doug & Liz Billings for 16 years
        - 9th Custodian of JRR 929D, Triumph Vitesse based special Paul Moorehouse built prior to the Triumph Roadster kits.
        - 8th owner of Roadster chassis number 2395. Now owned by Barry!
        - Builder of chassis number 2325 (PKK 989M) in the mid 80's. Now owned by Eric & Lynne.

Thanks! It has the rear leaf spring set up, registered 1986, I have loads of ideas for her already! Interior etc so hope to find some good tips on here. How can you spot the difference between the sportster and roadstar?

Glad to see another Marlin member join the fold. If you click on the red "photo galleries" button at the top of this page you will see the differences.

The Sportster is much newer and the currently manufactured "model" and larger than the Roadster.

Your Roadster looks great! Enjoy! Peter.
