    I saw this on eBay and thought it might be of some use to someone who is looking foe a new one.

    What about this as an option eBay item 400979132151 MG Midget new tank with sender. £134 ish
    The Escort tank went for £200!!!!!!

      £200 for a used tank! You could get one made up in ally for that sort of price. The midget tanks are new and I know of at least one member who bought one recently. They come with a new sender and all teh gubbins. A secondhand midget tank is around £45. I guess we may see a few more of them being adapted for roadsters as the escort tanks disappear completely.

        I suppose that if you plan to restore a Mk1 Escort Van to original condition, it's the price you have to pay.

        Kit car owners do not have the same obligations to use OEM parts. The advantage we have is that, with a custom tank, we can also change the sender to match our gauges, gaining not only a new tank, but that illusive thing, an accurate fuel gauge.
