We are having trouble sourcing a manual choke conversion kit for twin choke webber as fitted on 2 litre pinto. Any help gratefully received. Our usual sources have not had any luck.

Hi,
I contacted WEBCON on the internet and found a local dealer who supplied me with the WEBCON kit. It has everything you need to convert the DGAV to DGV! I have superb starting now! The kit is: 4505000000WFCP and set me back about ?50. Webcon, Dolphin Road, Sunbury, Middx, TW16 7HE. 01932 787100. Good Luck,

Have you tried Derby Auto Tuning Tel 688103 they used to be stockists for Weber

I'm glad that the mod worked. My old automatic choke contraption was corroded and packed with creamy powdery gunge.
My MoT man was a bit pompous and told me that a manual choke must have a warning light. I asked to see the reference in his official manual, and of course, he was unable to find it! So no warning light. Not being a mentally challenged amoeba I know when I have acivated the choke and can actually deactivate it with my hand - despite not having an array of electronics to direct me! Everyone knows that once a weber fed engine has started, the choke is no longer required to be on.

www.carburetters.co.uk seem to handle just about everything needed for just about every carb, including manual choke conversions.
Haven't tried them, tho', so can't comment further.
