  • Fuel pumps and filter

Last night I replaced the fuel pump on the Hunter it lives by the fuel tank. It was original to the build 97 but the plonkers had fitted no fuel filter before it!! It says on the pump must have a filter but clearly Marlin know better? Have any other Hunter owners had this problem? in my case the pump seized up and blew the fuse. Anyway it quieter now and goes ok so alls well that ends well

    Re: Fuel pumps and filter

Mine is the same set up as yours, I replaced the fuel pump about 18 months ago. Also replaced the pipe from the tank to the pump as this looked the worse for wear and probably collapsed inside.
No need to worry about a filter as the intake pipe is a distance from the bottom of the recess in the tank.
    Regards

Filter couple of quid means that the warranty on the pump is 2 years bargain. Plus I had a garage for years and never changed an external pump with filter and these high pressure pumps do work to close tolerances so for me its better safe than sorry
