  • New from Canada

    Hi
I have just purchased a Marlin LHD roadster first on the road in 1994,it is MGB powered and seems to have a triumph gearbox with O/D in 3rd and 4th..It has no top of side curtains witch I would like to change as spring and fall can be rather brisk here.I also drive a 1953 Moggie with a 1275 and disc brakes.I have admired Marlins for years and ca not believe my luck in finding one.

If it has a Triumph gearbox it is highly likely it has a Marina B series engine, very similar to an MGB but subtly different.

subtly different? How different? I remember Marinas having a single carb ,Mine has a single downdraft weber which I think was a necessity do to LHD steering column .How does one tell the difference between a MGB and Marina block? I am guessing it is a Marina as there is lots of Marina parts on the car.
        Thanks

Marina, mechanical fuel pump, MGB electric. Starter motor, Oil filter, Backplate, flywheel, clutch etc. Not everything is obvious.
Not a real problem just beware if ordering parts.

              Re: New from Canada

Wow picked up car this AM and spent the day driving it . It looks beautiful inside and out, the BMC B series engine pulls well only problem is the gearbox even double clutching it catches going into 3rd and most of the time it won't downshift from 4th into 3rd I guess I should go to the roadster forum and post the problem , Even with the gearbox problem I am a very happy owner
