  • Marlin on Gumtree

Marina 1275 based Roadster listed on Gumtree in County Durham. A complete car with a hardtop, tonneau and 2 hoods.
Unfortunately, shown on the DVLA website as still being registered as a Morris.
A running and driving car that looks to be a tidy recommissioning project for someone, with an asking price of £2500.

The hardtop is a pretty rare item. Almost worth the risk buying the complete car, keeping the hardtop and selling the rest on!

Unsurprising how many have looked at this.

No longer available but there may still be a demand if anyone hast the time and money to make some moulds.

Do the Triumph cars, the Marina cars have a common rear tub? LWB, and YKC you might be on your own!

Thanks for the info.......... not as easy peasy for me I wasted too much time trying to find it.

Looks like the moulding a member produced way back, Chris Everall is a name that comes to mind,

Re the rear tub Triumph Mk1 would be different then early Marina base and hybrids had a rear tub with no return on the top edge so it would be a struggle to mount the hard top, then SWB and LWB would also come into play.

It was indeed Chris Everall that was involved, if you had followed my link!
If there were sufficient interest for a Marina based SWB hardtop, this could be a possibility if you have the technical skills to use the existing as a pattern. Years ago, in my canoe days with the fledgling GayBo company it might have been possible for me, but is there someone else willing to take the project on for Marina based cars, the majority of Roadsters.

This was Chris Everall's Hardtop being shown on a stand around '89/90-ish.

                      Re: Marlin on Gumtree

I heard rumours that the person selling a hardtop mould on ebay awhile back was actually looking to have it produced through a canoe builder.

                          Morning,
if you go to the Gumtree website and type just "Marlin" in the search box it will be the 21st advert down.
Make sure the box to the left of the search box says "All"
Just looked and it is still listed.
                          Regards.
