  • Boot lid rattle

    New Berli owner!
Just added a packing piece to my spare wheel post as I have 15" tyres and the tyre would have rubbed the boot lid. However when driving it the lid flexes and rattle like mad - struggling to hear the engine :-)
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, any suggestions -please keep them clean :-) ?

    Re: Boot lid rattle

Most builders just pack off enough so that the tyre still rests on the boot lid. Then look at the rubber around the boot opening, and make sure it seals, also no gaps where the budget locks locate. A good modification is to fix on two alloy or metal plates for these to locate on. Then you should be rattle free. Good Luck!

I had a nasty rattle in the car once.
I cured it by not letting her sit in the passenger seat again.

Packing out as Danny suggested seems to have done the trick. I did think about your suggestion Jez but a glare from she who must be obeyed put pay to that :-)
