  1. Re: So I thought I might still have one more project in me..........

That is looking really good. You can spend forever on early bodies to get them looking perfect and you still see the ripples, but that looks good. Even better when it is painted green with a star on...

Is that a ford wiper set-up? My S1 Landrover has a similar non-original.

    Re: Peak District Meet

I don't see why dwindling numbers should stop a meet from being advertised unless a room has to be booked. As David suggested opening up to other makes is good. Maybe a 'Kit car group'. Also...

    Re: Peak District Meet

Why is low attendance a reason for removing the meet from the list? David's idea looks sound and worth a try, possibly a mention in the Kit Car press. Good luck.

That sounded like a realy lovely weekend I'm sorry we missed it, I must keep a closer watch for events. You looked to have a very scenic run. I was wondering about your route from Ashbourne to...

Re: starter motor Marina 1800 Roadster

Seeing the price of some of the starters on ebay, 1800 Diesels maybe? I would look at servicing the original. Mine has had a new solenoid and brushes under £20.

Making CAD small patterns. 'Yorkshire Tea' cardboard is very good. The boxes can be opened up very easily and the card is almost craft quality. The tea is excellent too! It's looking good.

Re: DRL152K Marina based roadster rebuild

Very smart! When you mentioned bonnet bulges my 1800TC has L-R mountings and my carbs clear the bonnet but without going out to look I think the black spacers are narrower on mine and the front carb...
  14. Re: 1937 TALBOT LAGO T150 S and Sportster cycle wings

Very nice, but expensive to make even in fiberglass. Maybe with the running boards of the Roadster etc.

    Re: Larger disc brakes

If the front brakes lock easily, possibly a brake proportion valve eg CBS. BRKPROP2 or3 would be the answer. Reducing the front effort and transferring it to the rear. Bigger disks will just make...
  17. Re: Marlin Roadster marina ital 1750 ALTERNATOR

I had a similar problem, but on mine, the two sides of the pulley had become unwelded and had worn an oval hole. a new pulley sorted it.

Re: Q219 BAL Red Berlinetta Part 2 the rebuild

To echo V8pete, now is the time and opportunity to do the whole job right possibly buying another/cheap engine for the Summer while doing a full job with no time constraints. Anyway good luck and I...

Re: Q219BAL Red Berlinetta, did you own it ?

I agree with A_Hogg, plus, I think it is an engine out job to check/strip it all. Why did the original owner dump it after spending a lot of money on it? My son rebuilt a 1600 crossflow after having...

Re: Q219BAL Red Berlinetta, did you own it ?

If you are a member of the AA ask nicely and they may help. We have Homestart and a few times over the years I have asked for a bit of 'wit and wisdom' and they have always obliged. Re Halfords...

Re: Q219BAL Red Berlinetta, did you own it ?

If you have sparks and think the timing is right, try towing it. As you say the engine is tight, has it been rebuilt? Try a tow anyway, it is cheaper than throwing money at it. Find an auto...

    Re: Impatiently awaiting Spring.

I too like the patina look, it makes them look like older sports cars rather than 'trailer queens'. But that's probably because mine is scruffy! I love the bonnet scoop. What is underneath it?

Re: Exeter Trial 2022 Simms Hill

Brilliant! Please explain why some cars barrelled round the bottom corner and up the hill and others stopped at a yellow flag?. Then started up. Was it because the track wasn't clear? Great to see...
