    Re: New member in Bristol

The funny thing is, you probably bought it because of the engine, and it was the very thing I was concerned about having had plenty of experience with Marlins, but none of Alfa twincams!

    Hello John

I can tell you a little bit. I was also interested in the car (going to see it the day after you) so did a bit of research. It was originally advertised on facebook...

    Re: Roadster Wanted

Hmm strange. I am not suprised it didn't sell at £4200 as it is only a 1.3 Ital based car. And we all know how undervalued the Roadster is ;-)
This time it was (briefly) £3200 - a bit more...

    Re: Roadster Wanted

That is quite a machine. Unfortunately, probably too heavy for what I have in mind.... Plus if the wife saw that she would never consider going in a Roadster again lol.

    Re: Roadster Wanted

I finally got hold of the chap selling the green O-series powered car in the magazine. Seems I wasn't quick enough (once again) as it sold within a couple of days of the mag coming out. So I guess it...

Does anyone know or recognise the green Roadster also advertised in the latest issue of Pitstop? I would quite like a little more info before I make contact.

Re: Roadster with Alpha twin cam engine

Does anyone know if "Geoff's car" ever found a new owner? I guess it is the one that was for sale on Facebook in April of this year.

    Re: camber angles

There were changes to the Marina front suspension over the years in an attempt to improve the handling. It would be worth checking that both sides are the same!
If the trunions are worn there is a...

    Re: camber angles

One of the downsides of the Marina is there is very little you can do to adjust the suspension because of the torsion bar arrangement. You may be able to make some small adjustment to the camber by...

Thanks for the info. May I ask:
What is your opinion of the Alfa engine?
And why did you fit the Ford box?

    Wheel and tyre sizes

Please can someone please tell me the wheel and tyre sizes that were fitted to the Marina based Roadster? By wheels, I mean the standard ones (Ribster?) that Marlin often sold with the kit.

Aha - I wondered who bought it. I was due to see it the following day.
It did look to be an excellent example. I am sure it will do well for you.

  25. Re: Roadster Mk2 Marina Based Parts required

In theory you can remove the steering arm but.... As I recall the uprights are handed one having the normal clockwise thread, the other being anti-clockwise so not possible to swap them side to side....
