In the past year I have said goodbye to too many in the same way.
Splined shaft for where! Steering? A picture would help.
Changing the crownwheel and pinions as individual parts is not really a job for the home mechanic, it’s a more specialist job and requires specific tools. Many have tried and the parts end up in a...
What is the problem with your existing diff?
there are two different ratios for the Marina, a mismatch will be a disappointment.
I strongly suggest reading the document that I shared. Swapping...
This will help a great deal.

Presumably a 1.3 Marina axle and not a 1.8. For the uninitiated they are different ratios but externally look identical.
I have a personal archive of all my Marlin Docs than can be accessed by my friends. Follow the link to keepandshare in my forum signature below.
I looked at this many years ago. Without removing the rear tub and welding parts to the chassis, I considered it too much effort.
To be anywhere near ideal the mounting for the shoulder strap...
To my knowledge at this time of the day, none of the Triumph clutches match the 1.8, neither in diameter or the number of splines on the gearbox input shaft.
You dont say, and I can’t remember, 1.8 or 1.3 engine, the clutches are not interchangeable.
Correction.
The design of the halfshaft was changed at some time in 1978 around the introduction of the Ital (?)
The woodruff key was changed from 3/16” thick to 1/4” thick at the same time as a...
It can be done, but the hub is rectangular so a three point puller is an uneven pull and can release unexpectedly.
Don’t be tempted to use heat as it may effect the temper of the steel of the hub or...
You will be lucky to find the service tools listed in those instructions. Don’t be fooled into thinking that a DIY three leg puller will do the job, there is a reason why there are substantial...
Converted to leaded? Surly you mean converted to unleaded or E10?
For those of us still in the EU, beware of additional customs charges.
everything you ever wanted to know about Marina axles can be found on Keepandshare.
access to a 25 ton press makes bearing and hub removal really easy.
Always listen to what Chris Weedon has to say, perhaps if you drive a Marina Based Roadster even subscribe to the Morris Marina Owners Club for good measure.
Stone Vapour boilers were part of my engineering heritage too. My dad worked for Stone, and I ended up working in their steam engineering design office in Crawley, Sussex until they went into...
Have you managed to identify the source of your springs, there are many alternatives available through the Marina/Ital range.
it is best to avoid the stronger springs unless you can match them to...

Marina and Ital superflex bushes are identical.

Replacement saddles can be bought from Rally Design

These saddles need to be drilled out to suit the Marina suspension locating peg...
Sorted, even if I say so myself.
Thanks Jon,
Rear wheel drive on a skid pan, always good fun.
From previous experience, always fit the correct correct drive gear to suit your ring-gear.
Swapping a ring gear is a much longer job.
