Google Autolox. They cover Guildford which may be near enough to you for help. Their blog seems to cover the same issues that you have described. Peter.

Glad the event was finally able to take place for you all. Good set of photos. So nice to see a couple of trials cars in the limelight! Peter.
  5. Re: Fuel pump and ignition circuit fuse blowing on mu Cabrio. Help!

Jon_cox’s comment above reminds me that my son had the same problem with his classic Range Rover and the cut out switch on those was a known cause of the random cutting out problem on those vehicles....
  6. Re: Fuel pump and ignition circuit fuse blowing on mu Cabrio. Help!

Anything else on the same fuse? Wipers, screenwash pump etc? Did you switch something else on when the pump stopped, or did it just stop working?I would disconnect each component supplied by that...

Re: Hunter hood, header bar stowage?

A word of caution if you have a Rover V8 engine with electronic ignition and the Hotwire airflow meter. Make sure you do tip the water off sideways. I didn’t once when leaving a local car show and...

    Re: Hunter rear springs

Yes they are adjustable but that sketch is wrong. The spring seat has the nut welded on the top outer surface and the locknut fits on top of it. You need two spanners to adjust the height. That said...

    Re: Any ideas ?

My TR ends were fairly new too but the car had stood without use during the lockdowns. I have fitted grease nipples to the bottom of the ball joints on both the track rod ends and the Track Control...

    Re: Any ideas ?

Need more information! Has the problem gradually got worse or has it suddenly occurred? Have you changed anything wheels, tyres etc before it happened? Have you worked on or replaced any other...

    Re: Hunter rear springs

Hi Mike. When you say the thicker more resistant end do you mean that the wire diameter was smaller at one end or that the coils were closer together at the cut end? Peter.

    Re: Marlin Fuel Tank

Why would it need a flexible hose inside the tank? The tank outlet to the pump should be at the bottom. I would expect any connection at the top of the tank to be for a return line from a swirl pot...

    Re: Hunter rear springs

Thanks Mike for this info. I fitted aftermarket progressive rear springs and Boge gas dampers to my 1987 2.0GL Sierra and it transformed the comfort and handling. I was sure that one of the Sierras...

Not familiar with that engine but it looks as though the ‘new’ engine may have had the same dipstick tube but it has been snapped off? Peter.

  22. Re: Cabrio - hunter stress fracture safety warning

Hi Mike. If you want to retain your existing set up I have a set as new (4 pieces) of the OE Ford ones that I removed from my Compbrake adjustable TCAs that you can have FOC. Peter.
  23. Re: Cabrio - hunter stress fracture safety warning

Hi Peterx. Its the standard Sierra OE bush setup. They are quite soggy and most people fit uprated ones. I recommend the Superflex ones with the OE washers. I fitted them originally to my old 2.0GL...
  24. Re: Cabrio - hunter stress fracture safety warning

Thanks Mike. So the failure started top left and bottom right when viewed from the wheel. Interesting but still confusing. Definitely an area to inspect regularly! Peter.
  25. Re: Cabrio - hunter stress fracture safety warning

That’s true. Those welds seem excessively large for a tack weld just to stop the bolt head turning?
