Scott - you are correct in that YKC didn't manufacture any Cabrio's.
The giveaway are the doors which feature support at the 'A' pillar for the window glass together with the scuttle moulding which...

  10. Re: More fluid leakage repairs and handbrake MOT fail & fix!

Wouldn't it be stronger and more reliable to have adjusters swaged on to the cable rather than relying on a blob of weld. In twenty plus years of sailing dinghy's I never had or saw a failure in that...

Re: Sportster gearing revs and differentials.

    Hi Steve
As David says 1st gear is a bit of waste regardless of diff ratios. I have read somewhere that a close ratio box was offered on some of the 325i models but I've never researched that...

Re: Sportster gearing revs and differentials.

    Hi Steve
I changed the diff in my Cabrio to a 3.38 [again BMW 2.5 engine]and thought it suited the engine/vehicle weight better.
Mike Garner I think tried a 3.14 in his Cabrio but found it too tall...

    Re: Engines

I personally have reservations about seeing any significant increases in fuel economy whatever the powerplant due to the lack of aerodynamics. Sure, you might reduce the weight and increase the bhp...

What do you have at present, and in what?
I don't believe there's an 'environmentally friendly' engine out there, not even electric. It will depend on your budget/skill level and time. It can get...

Re: Marlin Cabrio - hood seal

I think the original idea was closed cell foam strip of maybe 3mm x 20mm bonded to the forward edge of hood, full width. Other members have used 'D' section rubber again full width and either side of...
