    Re: Engine number ?

This page might help if you haven't seen it already (lots of other good stuff in there too)...confirms that 48G733 is a Gold Seal replacement for an 18V MGB engine. Lots of MGB forums out there and...

    Re: Marlin Roadster Registration Advice

Having tried to enhance the image I think it is 30K...and JMP 30K comes back as a 1972 2l Alfa.

    Re: Marlin Roadster Registration Advice

Is that a registration plate I can see...propped against the tunnel side...possibly _OV 110A...worth checking with DVLA perhaps..?
A-suffix is 1963 so might be consistent with a Herald donor......

    Re: Roadster shock absorbers

When my original front Spax wore out I fitted a pair of Gaz shocks, part # GT4-2270...they are usually a fair bit cheaper than Spax and I've been impressed by both their longevity and performance. ...

    Re: Wiring loom

    Welcome to the club Ivan.

I used a generic kitcar loom from Autosparks to rewire mine (they could probably provide a pukka Marina loom if you ask nicely)...good quality and nicely documented. ...

    Re: Wheel bearings

The front bearing kit (inner, outer & seal) is GHK1004 and is common to the Triumph TR7.
Same is true for the rear bearing kit, GHK1030, which is used in the TR7 4-speed models.

IIRC Rover 100/Rover Metro (i.e. K series engines) are 3.75"...Austin/MG Metro (i.e. A series engines) are 4" (as per Mini)...

    Re: Stoneleigh

Probably HS2-related, as the proposed route cuts right across the site and specifically our historic pitch..!

    Re: stiff gearbox

I believe BGH used to recommend Comma semi-synth GL4 SX75W-90...might be worth giving them a call to check latest thinking..? Here's a link to an article about the T9 & BGH...oil advice is on the...
  14. Re: Does my Marlin have a sense of humour?

    Just a thought...

Possibly insufficient cranking enrichment, exacerbated by the cooler weather...when you come back to the car within an hour or 2 residual fuel from the previous attempt is still...

    Re: My Roadster

Interesting, from what I recall of the only time I tried it...would definitely have benefited from some ballast over the rear axle..!

    Re: Roadster hood

It was a long time ago, but IIRC I fitted the Lift-the-Dots to the rear tub & base of the hood (find the middle & work outwards), then stretched the hood forward over the cant-rail...using contact...
  17. Re: Yellow topped relay sierra origin fuse box

I recently fitted a set of ETB instruments...I used a Revotec electronic adaptor for the Type 9 to drive the speedo, which seems to work well...bit of a tight fit in the Roadster tunnel...

  19. Re: Mudguards brackets bolts and rattles

Had a similar problem with mine, with cracking around the bolts.
I opted to try the 7-esque approach & use windscreen sealant to bond the wing directly to the brackets...so far, on the one wing I've...
