Re: Roadster 1800 TC oil filter

I've had this before on a Fiat Twin Cam. When my mate fitted the new filter he didn't observe that the old filter didn't have an o-ring. When we started it up it dumped all of the oil on the floor...

Has anyone tried fitting bigger drums

I was just wondering if there was a bigger drum option for the rear brakes on a marina. For the Sunbeam you could switch from the standard 8" drums to the bigger Ford Capri 9" drums. Did any of the...

Re: Towing a Roadster with an A Frame

I did it for a short while for my rally car and I switched to a trailer. A frames are not easy to reverse for one and if you have problems with the back axle it can be a problem....
  6. Re: 2.0L pinto Engine Fuel Supply Pressure and Bypass line

I've never had a bypass fitted to my Pinto or my old 1600 sport escort, both being fitted with the same carb. I would check the float level, condition of the floats and the valve.

    Re: Fuel Filler Roll-over Flap.

I used an anti surge device from an mx5. Fits the neck of the escort tank quite nicely.

    Re: Anti-tramp Bars

Not had a chance to drive it yet. I need to get it on its wheels and torque up the bolts. Oh, and put the seats back in. The goal was to limit the axle wind up because I believe that it was taking...

    Anti-tramp Bars

Over the winter recess I have added anti-tramp bars to the rear suspension. In doing so I have also removed the saddle pads as most of the rally preparation guides suggest doing because it improves...

    Re: 928CDU update !

I've had the same problem. I centre punched the top of the stub axle and used bearing seal to stop it spinning and it seems to be working just fine. If you can get some stub axles made I would be...

    Re: Marlin on Gumtree

I just read the guidance and it looks like if it was not modified in the last 30 years a kit might qualify.

  16. Re: Safety Alert Ford Sierra Compression strut problems

I think you've hit the nail on the head. If the mount was designed for an anti-roll bar a lot of the twisting moment on the mount would have been taken up by the anti-roll bar, when the bar running...

    Re: leaf spring disassembly

I'm going to bin the saddle pads as they don't fit and it's recommended not to use them on performance cars as it improves the axle location.
