Just get them powder coated with the wheels. Can't imagine that it will cost much more.

Re: Sportster gearing revs and differentials.

    Hi Steve
As David says 1st gear is a bit of waste regardless of diff ratios. I have read somewhere that a close ratio box was offered on some of the 325i models but I've never researched that...

Re: Sportster gearing revs and differentials.

    Hi Steve
I changed the diff in my Cabrio to a 3.38 [again BMW 2.5 engine]and thought it suited the engine/vehicle weight better.
Mike Garner I think tried a 3.14 in his Cabrio but found it too tall...

Re: Bits for 'new' Marlin ...

If I've got the correct ones in my head they were offered by YKC as an accessory . Regret that I have no idea whether they had them manufactured or by whom.

    Re: Engines

I personally have reservations about seeing any significant increases in fuel economy whatever the powerplant due to the lack of aerodynamics. Sure, you might reduce the weight and increase the bhp...

What do you have at present, and in what?
I don't believe there's an 'environmentally friendly' engine out there, not even electric. It will depend on your budget/skill level and time. It can get...

Re: Marlin Cabrio - hood seal

I think the original idea was closed cell foam strip of maybe 3mm x 20mm bonded to the forward edge of hood, full width. Other members have used 'D' section rubber again full width and either side of...

    Re: Pinto DGAV throttle cable.

Kit Spares [think they are part of GBS] have a cable with a 90 degree formed outer sheath at one end to clear bonnet. Might be of use.
  18. Re: Roadster: 2ltr Ford Pinto engine with fast road cam

Pity that they cannot even get the basics right! Now described as a 2L DOHC Ford.
At that price my Alfa powered one with 5 speed has to be worth at least double.

Re: Marina B series camshaft swap

I think we can be fairly confident that the prospect of hiring an engine hoist had been considered . Why else would the original post have been placed?

It would be of interest to know what figures/weights you used in the calculation, especially corner weight, un sprung weight and shock ride height. Also wondering what the rating would have been for...
