    You will have to remove the alloy dash with the wooden one. I removed mine last year for a similar reason, and the screws holding the alloy were revealed when the capping was off. There were larger...

    Thanks folks. I have the tripod, tin can version, so I will remove them at the end of the summer and decide if it is to be stretchy boots or new shafts, which seem to be available at various prices.
