    Re: Marlin Grill Badge

I have a grill badge back in the UK.
Its not much help but 5 years ago I considered getting some cast, using the original as a pattern.
Back to copyright issues, if Marlin Sports Cars would or...

    Re: Gear stick upgrade

A far more professional looking idea.
It looks to be only a few specially manufactured components. Does that make it marketable to the community, maybe Marina owners would appreciate it!

    Re: Seized Inlet manifold stud

If the stud is 100mm long as suggested, heat will take a long time to transfer that sort of length to have any significant result.
    My preference is always PlusGas.
    I learned it’s benefits whilst...

I have far more than two! One for every Model of car that I have owned (often none published though) and several for different models with a similar pedigree that may have used a similar...

Haynes Publishing up for sale? The

Could this be the end of a 60 year empire. I’m pretty sure that we all own two or more of these publications.

Presumably the museum will be safe, but will they lose an income stream?

    Time will...

    Re: Berlinetta Carpet

I think you can guarantee that they have no comparison whatsoever except that they cover the transmission tunnel, floor and sides of the cockpit of a different car.

    Re: New Marlin owner

It rather depends on your budget and your forward plan, you can spend £100 alone on a set of +20 piston rings for all four pots at Burton Power!

If you start spending serious money you might as...

    Re: New Marlin owner

Personally, if it were me, and the head does indeed need converting to unleaded, I would think seriously about getting the head ported to release a few more horses.
    There are numerous Ford parts...

    Re: New Marlin owner

Sounds to me like someone fitted a crude ignition immobiliser to prevent the car from being started, even with a key.
Not completely unheard of in the KitCar world where open cockpits are much more...

    Re: Dodgy wiring ...

As I have said before there appears to be a strong correlation between modern Ethanol fuels and fuel system problems.
Certainly, pump and seal materials from 30 years ago would not have been...

    Re: Dodgy wiring ...

Bad connections are very different from having to trace wires that change colours because someone was lazy.
I have a problem with my Mercedes. At the hottest time of year it’s erratic, now when I...

    Have you looked at https://www.clampcouk.co.uk/exhaust-mounting-rubbers.html

    Loads of pictures for comparison!
  16. Re: Roadster swb MGB engine and gearbox help

My treaties on Overheating Roadsters at Keepandshare covers most of this, but it’s mostly irrelevant to fitting an MGB engine and gearbox in a Roadster.
  17. Re: Roadster swb MGB engine and gearbox help

Converting a Marina block to MGB, is a lot more than a backplate. flywheel, starter motor, clutch, spigot bush, fuel pump, spring to mind.
  18. Re: Roadster swb MGB engine and gearbox help

It was a typo, possibly exasperated by my iPad preferring ITV to IVA, which I was careful to check this time.

But yes you are right, the Spanish ITV covers every technical inspection whether IVA...
  19. Re: Roadster swb MGB engine and gearbox help

Presumably you are confident of passing an ITV, otherwise the additional work may be to no avail.

If you have a Hybrid chassis with the mountings for a B series engine (identical to a Marina) then...

    Re: Dodgy wiring ...

I confess to more than one wiring ‘technical bodge’ putting a small circuit board in a 35mm film container, to control my thermostatic fan direct from the standard Marina temperature sender.
    It was...

    Re: Van wheel nuts ...

I’ve not done it on a van axle, but you can pop out the studs and replace them quite easily on Triumph and Marina axles.

How are MGB wheels centred, are they bored to suit the axle boss, or are...
