    Re: LWB Cabrio for sale

The LWB is now in the garage alongside a practically brand new chassis I managed to get my hands on. When I looked at the work needed on my existing chassis and the jacking up damage that previous...

    Re: LWB Cabrio for sale

Yes, am particularly partial to the S2 & S3, almost bought a red one in great condition. The V6 also has a lovely exhaust note.

Unfortunately the Chimaera did spoil me for noise and thrills. ...

    Re: LWB Cabrio for sale

Interesting, I owned a TVR Chimaera 4L for 8 years and then sold it because I had also bought a LWB Cabrio off Danny.
  5. Re: Classic car show that turned into a Marlin meet…

That blue roadster has some unusual design decisions. The owner probably wanted to raise the engine & sump height for trials use but I've never seen another car with the overall bonnet raised like...

    Re: Cabrio engine keeps stopping

As I promised, I've just checked the ecu location on mine and its also just under the dash in the passenger footwell with a cover over that area to stop any wayward feet.

    Re: Cabrio engine keeps stopping

You could always do what was done on my previously owned TVR Chimaera and move the ECU into the passenger side footwell; obviously place it up high out of reach of feet. If I get chance tomorrow I...

    Re: Cabrio engine keeps stopping

"not sure what the swirl pot does really"

Its intended to stop fuel starvation during heavy cornering etc. Same way that racers would put baffles in the fuel tank to try to stop all the fuel...

    Re: Marlins a la Frog!

Someone needs to tell whomever buys the blue one, to ditch that boy-racer dustbin exhaust.

    Re: Interesting Roadster on Gumtree

Interior by Ercol by the looks of it. Its a concept that hasn't aged well.
  11. Re: Fiat powered Roadster project on ebay

Given the car its loosely based on then an Alfa is very much more appropriate, would look good if the cam covers were finished in Ferrari Red crinkle. I often scan the market place to see if any...

Re: E5 Petrol: Buying for the future

Be very wary of storing significant quantities of excess fuel, especially if you are intending to use some homemade tank, if anything happened I would expect your house insurance and most likely...
  13. Re: Lovely Roadster up for auction on Car and Classic

That's a good looking car. Only change I would do would be to put some carpet over the checker plate, it's a personal thing, can't stand the stuff always looks cheap and nasty IMO

    Plus not so...

    Re: Cabrrio chassis for sale

Just going through some notes I've gleaned over the years:

    Cabrio FAQs

•Dimensions. The LWB is 4”/10cm longer than the SWB, 2” in the doors and 2” just behind. Visually this shows itself in...

    Re: Cabrrio chassis for sale

I was always under the impression (and I could very well be wrong) that they were initially sold as SWB first and then LWB was introduced.

If its possible to confirm that the chassis is definitely...

    Welcome to the club.

I think with all cars its often the luck of the draw. I've run a Sierra based Cabrio for number of years and its been fine but there's still enough to tinker with.

Re: Hunter hood, header bar stowage?

Thats pretty much how I use mine, have never installed it in 7 years of ownership. Don't even know if it fits. Hood still works fine.

Although I have a Cabrio myself, I was (and still am) tempted by a Sportster, which BTW does have doors and, depending on having a windscreen instead of aero screens, can also have a hood. Probably...

You haven't specified where the leak is showing inside. Is it near bottom of door etc.

I had a leak on my Cabrio and it was caused by the seal between the roof and windscreen top failing to seal....
