Re: Cabrio/ Seirra front wheel hub carriers.

The Mondeo is different. The bottom ball joint has parallel sides and is held by a pinch bolt. Also because it is front wheel drive the steering rack is behind the axle line, where the Sierra is in...

Car builder solutions has some handy diagrams like the one above, with a choice depending on what relay and switch combination you have. Their catalogue can be viewed online.

    Re: Idle Air-Control valve, testing:-

Whilst I am not familiar with that particular Idle Control Valve, ones on other engines respond well to a clean with the likes of WD 40. The part of the valve that slides or rotates gets gummed up.

  10. Re: A barely started Berlinetta kit in Scotland, V6 2.3 auto

It needs someone brave to buy it and find out what modifications would be required for it to pass IVA. Seems a shame that this could be built up and deemed unsafe, but a Berlinetta that is 30yrs old...

Re: Cabrio 205 Pinto Engine Squeaky Fan Belt.

My guess is that it is a cogged v belt. These have more or less superseded plain v belts due to better efficiency and longer life. A cogged v belt runs on the same v pulley as a plain belt.

Both of the links above are excellent and should answer most of your questions. I would add that usually a coil over has the part number stamped on somewhere, and often a spring has the rate written...
  16. Re: Just suppose you have to tow your Marlin on a trailer...

I would attach the winch to the track control arm, between the chassis mount and the anti roll bar mount. The TCA is designed to take large forces during cornering and brakeing so that would be my...

  18. Re: Dismantling question 1 - removing the windscreen clamp

I know this is a Roadster, but when I removed the windscreen from my Berlinetta I used a small ratchet strap to pull the legs of the surround apart. I laid it flat on a trailer that I had, but you...

Sorry to be negative, but that anti roll bar set up looks a bit exposed and easily damaged to me. I would be trying to find a solution that mounts the bar above the trailing arms as in the original...
