    Re: New member in Bristol

I put one on my last Roadster and can recommend it. The maker is a really nice chap as well. No connection; just a satisfied customer.

    Re: Roadster Wanted

It was offered for sale on FB in July 2021 at £4,200 and, since DVLA have the last V5 change in 2014, by the same owner.

    Re: Escort fuel gauge

Don't forget a filter mesh on the pickup to sieve out any crap from the tank.

Re: Triumph based, it's a new one to me

DC, the one on the right with the Clasico plate seems very familiar. I can't remember where from but if it comes to me I'll let you know.

Not one that rings a bell with me, either. Unusual treatment of the fuel filler and rear lamp cluster.

Nice red Roadster in the latest Pitstop looks like it would fit the bill nicely, Robin.

    Stoneleigh 2023

Just seen a post on FB saying the kitcar show in 2023 may not be at Stoneleigh, possibly moving to Malvern. Has the Club seen anything to this effect?

Re: Roadster with Alpha twin cam engine

It was on FB at £3,600: https://www.facebook.com/groups/244465822252180/search/?q=alfa

I almost made a comment about autocorrect but held back :)

Re: Roadster with Alpha twin cam engine

I'd seen that one. I think it was up for sale back in August at a lower price.

I would be nervous about the gearbox playing up; I am told parts are hard to find and expensive.

    Other than that,...
  12. Roadster with BMW engine and possibly hard top

This caught my eye on eBay because of the engine but looking at the images it looks to me like it has a hard top? No V5 or chassis number according to the listing....

Not your actual Binky episode but an update on what they've been doing.

Hopefully episode 38 isn't too far away by the sounds of it.

    Re: Wheel and tyre sizes

Robin, if you are going for different alloys watch out for the back depth. The Ribsters were, I believe 89mm, but from experience I've found you can go up to 99mm without interference.

Re: The end of an era?

    Interesting topic.

I agree that the complexity of modern internal combustion engines and planned obsolescence of electronic parts will curtail their longevity. However, I think future kit builders...

Re: Hybrid Roadster in Helston Cornwall

A word of caution; DVLA have this as a Morris with a 2L engine. A buyer will need to be prepared for a difficult conversation with the agency, particularly as it is still on the original Marina...

Re: Bargain Roadster on Car and Classic

Sorry about that. Should have recognized it but I usually go off reg nos. Stick to my opinion that it's worth more than the asking unless there's a problem with it.

Correctly registered. Needs and MOT. Assuming it's mechanically sound it looks to be worth far more than the £2,500 asking.

    Re: Speedometer gearing

I think what you really need is the number of turns per mile of the cable to the speedo. This is what Speedy Cables ask for to calibrate a speedo https://www.speedycables.com/speedometer-calibration/
