Well done Dave. I look forward to a few words for the magazine and also seeing the car in the flesh sometime in the future.

  3. Re: E10 what to make a fuel tank and rigid pipes out of?

As far as I'm aware the impact of ethanol on aluminium alloy is negligible so alloy tanks should be ok.
  4. Re: E10 what to make a fuel tank and rigid pipes out of?

I plan to put an article in the next Pitstop magazine which may answer some questions. The problem with Ethanol is that it is hygroscopic which means it absorbs moisture which can cause corrosion of...

    Re: Stoneleigh 2021

Yes it was great to meet up with everyone again, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had about 27 cars on Saturday and 18 on Sunday, not as many as a normal Stoneleigh but good under the circumstances. ...

Re: Hunter hood, header bar stowage?

Likewise. On the rare occasion I have had ponding on the roof I just open the door and gently push the roof up so the water runs off being careful to make sure it runs off on the other side. All part...

    Re: Stoneleigh 2021

I have just had it confirmed by the organisers that we are on stand (block) 63 A/C and we are sharing with the Dax Rush Owners Club. This is the same stand as last time. As mentioned before, I think...

    Re: Any ideas ?

Its interesting how the same cars vary in the way they handle. My old Marina based Roadster needed 'assistance' to self centre whereas my Cabrio self centres very well. In my opinion, one little test...

Below is an extract from an article that I plan to put in the next Pitstop magazine (not the one due out over the next week or two but the following one)

E10 fuel will be replacing the standard 95...

    Re: Fuell

Forgot to mention that there is an article on the impact of Ethanol in petrol in Pitstop issue 179 way back in 2013 which is worth a read. Old copies can be found on the forum under 'Pitstop...

    Re: Fuell

As I understand it the 'super' grade will generally be E5 (5% Ethanol) instead of what will be the standard E10 (10%) and will be available for a further 5 years beyond this September. As Dane...

    Re: Stoneleigh 2021

In principle a good idea. The problem is that the show ground is considerably smaller this year because of various works going on. The organisers, Grosvenor, are still waiting for a site plan from...

    Re: Stoneleigh 2021

There will be no AGM at Stoneleigh this year, mainly because we will have no marquee and also because we didn't want too many members in close proximity even though the rules have been 'relaxed'.

Agree with John. My windows got very sluggish to the point where the drivers side needed manual assistance to get it up. I use PMA silicon lubricant and they shoot up now. Keep 'em greased!

The Sierra does have a 30A fuse for the power windows but presumably that makes provision for all four windows being operated at the same time. As you say, the Cabrio only has two and I would have...
