Re: Morris Marina Leaf Spring Shackle Pin

Thanks for all the replies guys. I think I have some more investigation to do.

Re: Morris Marina Leaf Spring Shackle Pin

Here is the Marina shackle pin.

Re: Morris Marina Leaf Spring Shackle Pin

Yes - that's the sort of thing. I am pretty sure that the moggie one is too short as the leaf spring on a moggie is only 1.5" wide and it's 2" on a Marina.
As soon as I can get Flickr to behave...

Re: Morris Marina Leaf Spring Shackle Pin

Unfortunately not. The shackle pin is a thingy with a thread at both ends. I'll post a picture tomorrow.

Morris Marina Leaf Spring Shackle Pin

Wanted - as in the title.
One of mine has stripped threads rendering it useless. From all my searching so far they seem to be unique to the Marina.
They also seem to be made of some hardened stuff...
  6. Re: DRL152K Marina based roadster rebuild

The fuel tank, made by CompBrake, arrived and is exactly as my fag packet sketch so thumbs up to them. It fits almost perfectly (see below!) between the chassis rails as planned. The original tank...
  7. Re: DRL152K Marina based roadster rebuild

Made some good progress in the last couple of weeks. After a lot of fitting and refitting the rear body tub now fits square. It had been originally fitted (by Marlin) not very well and I had to...
  8. Re: DRL152K Marina based roadster rebuild

    Some more progress....
I have re-made the rear tub support plate. The original was pretty ugly with oversized holes. The new one is a tad lower so I should be able to get some tite-n-fast trim...
  9. Re: Brake Servo failure, Marina based Roadster

I checked my (new) brake servo and the box just says for a Triumph TR6. It fits the pedal box OK except I had to make a thin spacer so that the push rod fitted the pedal OK. On the other side of the...
  10. Re: Brake Servo failure, Marina based Roadster

Away atm. Will try to find it when I return.

    Cheers Robin
  11. Re: Brake Servo failure, Marina based Roadster

There are companies that can repair servos - however it can be expensive. I am rebuilding a Marlin at the moment and have used a TR6 servo which fits and are available new. My car is far from being...

    Re: Engine and gearbox mounts

I think the idea was to use 2 offside mounts as the nearside one was too flexible and allowed the engine to move arround to much. They do appear on Ebay from time to time at a price that isn't nice....
  13. Re: DRL152K Marina based roadster rebuild

I don't suppose everyone will like this but I never found the strong but rather utilitarian rear bumper very attractive. Particularly if using cycle wings. So I have taken a hacksaw to it and...
  14. Re: DRL152K Marina based roadster rebuild

To cut a long story short here is the progress so far. The plan is not only to rebuild but to make it easier to live with and update it to (almost) the standard required by a modern IVA test.
    ...
  15. DRL152K Marina based roadster rebuild

I purchased DRL152K last year and am part way into the rebuild. I have already posted and had answered so I thought I would share progress here for those that are interested.
    This my 5th kit car...

    Re: Spare wheel cover...

There was a fibreglass spare wheel cover available for the Sportster - it wasn't the best of fits though and you could only get a space saver spare under it.
There is a pale blue Sportster where...

    Re: Q294 on Facebook

Looks like it's sold. Pity - I would have liked to see some more pictures as I am taking a similar approach with my rebuild.

Re: WANTED - Roadster rear body tub

No. It seems what I wanted doesn't exist. That is the later tub with the returned edge, but without a wheel well.
So at least for the moment I am sticking with the original tub which doesn't have...

    Re: Fake Marlin in Auction?

Cheers - better eyesight than me.
Does that mean they are crossplies then? I Googled them and they seem to be trailer tyres!

    Re: Fake Marlin in Auction?

A question for those of you that have looked carefully at the pictures. Were you able to determine what is the size of thw wheels and tyres? just curious....

Re: Marina based fr. S/A on a Roadster

Your best bet may be to go to one of the small companies, like Gaz, and get some made to order

Re: WANTED - Roadster rear body tub

You are correct it seems. Unfortunately my fibreglassing skills are not up to either of your alternative suggestions :-(.
I'll have to think again it seems.

Re: WANTED - Roadster rear body tub

Aha - so it seems the spare wheel well is standard if you have the rolled top edge. I'll have to think again....

Re: WANTED - Roadster rear body tub

Still looking. The one that Danny offered me had a spare wheel well so wasn't suitable.
