    Re: Vehicle tax and registration

N9A engines are non-cat fuel injected. The IVA tester should test to that criteria.
In addition the age of your engine, and hence the criteria for testing can be determined by its age. This guide...

    Re: Vehicle tax and registration

    Hi Nigel,
My tax works out at £294 PA. paid by direct debit.
My car has an age related plate.
Info about your engine can be found here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_I4_DOHC_engine

    Re: Vehicle tax and registration

    Hi Paul,
I pay £24.50 per month, I think the annual rate is £250 but there is a premium charged for using direct debit.
MOT emissions have been really contentious. Car on age related plate, date of...

    Re: Oil Cooler not working

With the exception of the starter motor my battery goes through a 100 amp fuse to the rest of the circuits. If you have one fitted and have blown that, then the car will be as dead as a dodo.

    Re: Vehicle tax and registration

Hmm. Well when my Cabrio (the first Marlin ever to do it) went through IVA I left the engine related info blank on the form. So I left it blank on the vehicle reg form too. To this day my V5 is blank...

Re: I ought to know this, but...

    Hi Bill,
Park has a permanent connection (well live when the ignition is on), but you need a relay for the intermittent wipe to work.
Amusingly my intermittent wipe only works intermittently,...

    Re: Cabrio E416AYB

Random thought. It is obviously an illuminated switch, could it be for the rear fog or reversing light?

    Re: Seat Reinforcement

Well it is a bit hard to describe, and impossible to photograph, but here goes describing what I did when I fitted my seats:
The seat runners are mounted on a length of 1x1 steel box section tube....

Re: Cabrio front suspension bush renewal

    Hi Phil,
I have only replaced the ARB bushes (Both inboard and at the TCA)
No real issues except needing to squeeze the ends of the ARB to get them through the TCAs. You have a ratchet strap so...

    Re: Wrong Battery??

    Well!
I've got a budget Drivetech battery (whoever they are) which is rated at 40AH and 330CC.
It worked OK for the DOHC Sierra engine, and using the same starter motor with the Zetec engine works...

I see you are active on MadAboutKit cars. I seem to remember a user called Timbo had similar issues a few years ago.
  16. Re: Heater blower / fan switch Cabrio wiring

Sorry Bill, I used the standard Sierra heater controls including the switch.
  17. Re: Fuel pump and ignition circuit fuse blowing on mu Cabrio. Help!

Cut out switch is a very good idea. I got mine from Car Builder solutions.
However it is most unlikely to be causing the fuse to blow.
Unfortuantely I would hazard a guess that either the fuel pump...

    Hi Bill
The DOHC engine had a two stage thermostatic switch as some models had two fans and they came on at different temperatures.
