Re: Towing a Roadster with an A Frame

Just to throw a spanner in the works...where do you stand using a towing dolly, where you drive the front wheels of the car onto the dolly. If the towing dolly has it's own brake would that be legal?

Re: Towing a Roadster with an A Frame

As I see it, as long as the overall weight is under 750kg, car plus A frame, brakes aren't required. But, since this is such a grey area, I would disable the car in some way, so it wouldn't start. ...

Re: Towing a Roadster with an A Frame

I was thinking of doing the same but not got round yet to getting an A frame. It would be very easy to hook up, but you can't reverse, remember that when you go down the narrow country lanes!
    If you...

Well that was interesting...the problem started before I had touched anything last week. Coming up to traffic lights etc, she would hesitate and when taking off would misfire a bit but getting away...

Weird thing is, when pressing the accelerator she splutters but the revs don't increase, and when I let go, she goes back to almost normal idling. And she starts up easily.

Run out didn't go according to plan...

I had planned to go up to the Horseshoe Pass today and got halfway there when the Roadster started to misfire. I thought it was electrical as I've just changed the plugs, points, capacitor and rotor,...

    Re: Suspension questions

I agree. Check tyre pressures. I run mine on 18psi and it transformed the handling and made for a far less bumpy ride! Think how light the car is now compared to it's doner car! Gareth.

    Re: Stripping alloy wheels

I used Nitromoors in the end Tony. Soaked on thick for about a hour then power washed off the lacquer. If my paint job flakes it will be easy to touch up or I could pay for a proper job. A proper job...

Something else I'm doing is changing the old Mountney steering wheel to a 9 hole Astali wheel. Thought I'd just check I can get the old wheel off as the steering nut could be done up tight and a...

Cheers, but it would be a bit far. There's places around Chester that can do it if I give up doing myself. Thanks anyway!

    Stripping alloy wheels

Hi, I'm looking for some recommendations for stripping the lacquer off the alloy wheels on the Roadster with a view to repainting them.
