    Sierra/Escort/Cortina air filter.

I am really not convinced by aftermarket air filters for Weber DGV carbs on Pintos, they seem so small and the flimsy bottom plate is too flexible to seal reliably against the gasket on the top of...

    Re: Marlin Roadster Registration Advice

As regards seat belt mounts, my last car had a rear roll bar which doubled as one of the roof supports and had the upper seat belt mounts welded to it. Still seems like a good design to me.

    Re: Pinto DGAV throttle cable.

I have bought a linkage (pictured above) that routes the cable over the engine, so the carb will remain where it is.

    Re: Pinto DGAV throttle cable.

Thanks Jon, maybe I should have been clearer. That picture of the cable end is not the same as the one you showed in the picture of the HCD linkage. That is a normal Ford barrel end. I understand...

    Re: Pinto DGAV throttle cable.

Thanks, I can't however picture how that Ball joint on the end of the cable attaches to that half circular pulley? Have you used one?

    Pinto DGAV throttle cable.

YKC roadster, 2.0 Pinto with DGAV carb: I have just replaced the throttle cable as it was fraying and breaking at the carb end. On removing it I found the inner cable very frayed and broken inside...

Nope, well not on my part anyway, just pointing out that what was a good idea back then is now probably out of date. So perhaps you were right.

Re: Roadster Rebuild Diary from Cornwall

Whilst I would agree with the comments about using an electric fan, I think the statement that the engine bay is "well ventilated" to be wrong.

Air can potentially get into the engine bay OK, but...

Re: YKC Sierra based roadster heater?

Sorry Danny, whatever YKC used in house, a mini heater does not fit in mine. Trawling through the archived tech tips I read an article by Keith H where he describes the same problem.

    Mountney steering wheel 12"

Mountney steering wheel leather looks good, slight scuffing to rear (the rear, in my view being the bit you can't see when seated, so that's at the front. You get what I mean.) and a small hole in...
