    Re: Idle Air-Control valve, testing:-

Whilst I am not familiar with that particular Idle Control Valve, ones on other engines respond well to a clean with the likes of WD 40. The part of the valve that slides or rotates gets gummed up.

  3. Re: A barely started Berlinetta kit in Scotland, V6 2.3 auto

It needs someone brave to buy it and find out what modifications would be required for it to pass IVA. Seems a shame that this could be built up and deemed unsafe, but a Berlinetta that is 30yrs old...

Re: Cabrio 205 Pinto Engine Squeaky Fan Belt.

My guess is that it is a cogged v belt. These have more or less superseded plain v belts due to better efficiency and longer life. A cogged v belt runs on the same v pulley as a plain belt.

    Re: Suspension

Both of the links above are excellent and should answer most of your questions. I would add that usually a coil over has the part number stamped on somewhere, and often a spring has the rate written...
  9. Re: Just suppose you have to tow your Marlin on a trailer...

I would attach the winch to the track control arm, between the chassis mount and the anti roll bar mount. The TCA is designed to take large forces during cornering and brakeing so that would be my...

  11. Re: Dismantling question 1 - removing the windscreen clamp

I know this is a Roadster, but when I removed the windscreen from my Berlinetta I used a small ratchet strap to pull the legs of the surround apart. I laid it flat on a trailer that I had, but you...
  12. Re: Just come across this site a few roadsers and berlies for sale on it.

Unfinished and unregistered Berly could be a good source of body panels, including the often asked for hardtop.

Re: Rear anti roll bar mount

Although, as I said before, the set up looks a bit exposed, someone has gone to a fair bit of time and expence to make and fit this to your car. And there is at least one other car like it, probably...

Re: Rear anti roll bar mount

Sorry to be negative, but that anti roll bar set up looks a bit exposed and easily damaged to me. I would be trying to find a solution that mounts the bar above the trailing arms as in the original...

Hi Peter, as I mentioned in a previous post I had a tank made by OBP, and I was pleased with their prompt service and the finished tank. I also previously mentioned the debate about Biofuel and it's...

    Re: Berlinetta fuel tank

I got an alloy tank made by OBP for my Berlinetta. I started a thread on fuel tanks but it never took off, if you look in general car chat page 14 it's there. There is a debate about biofuel and it's...

Re: The MARLIN of Dorian Gray......

UJ's are stronger, cheaper and more compact than CV's. However UJ's cause the shaft to speed up and slow down during one revolution. This is usually dealt with by fitting a second UJ at the same...
