    Re: Berlinetta build and restoration

At long last I took the Marlin for a first drive in 19 years, not counting the MOT. After a mad rush trying to make it to Stoneleigh things calmed down a bit, and I decided to get the Marlin finished...

    11066

I know that there are two widths of casing, 7ins and 7 1/2 ins, when measured...

    Re: Cabrio rear bearing noise?

I had a similar problem with my Mondeo which turned out to be the tyres. Although the tyres were less than two years old with plenty of tread they were misshapen. Swap front and rear wheels and see...

    Re: Sierra Berli

If I need shims I will start by using washers between the hub and the swing arm until I have the desired measurement. Then make shims the same thickness as the washers.

    Re: Sierra Berli

When I built my Sierra Berly in the early 90's I had this problem. I bought a pair of standard rate springs but 2 ins longer from a rally spares place, which raised the car up and cured the negative...

Re: Thermo switch for cooling fan

Car builder solutions have a similar in hose adapter which I used. The adjustable switches are too tempting to fiddle with all the time!

Wire the fan through a relay with the earth going through...

    Re: Windscreen Emergency

Google "plant glazing" in your area. They can cut flat glass no problem, usually for plant machinery but should be able to do the same for a Marlin.

    Re: Got puzzled

What about trying an infra red temperature probe? Can be had for not too much money and will allow you to check the actual temp of whatever you point it at, and see if the gauge is at fault.
