Re: Can I change a Q plate to age related?

I seem to recall that some have managed to get it changed, but you have to have all of the documentation to hand to prove that it should have had an age related plate in the first place.

    Re: Marina Roadster Spares

I found these instructions which give more details, and as you can see from the diagram #1 there is no need for additional chassis work to the forward end of the anti tramp bar. I'm thinking that...

    Re: Marina Roadster Spares

Yes Steve, I agree that upgrading the bushes is a good place to start and I will be doing that as part of this exercise. The first target would be to replace the saddle bushes (I think that's what...

    Re: Marina Roadster Spares

Does anyone have some spare spring hangers (the lower end mount of the shock absorber) that I could purchase?. I want to modify them to add the mounting for anti-tramp bars.

Re: Type 9 Gearbox in a Roadster

Yes Steve, it is following chaning the gearbox mount to change the level of the engine to the ~3 degrees that it should be at based on the Ford guidelines. Balancing will be next.

I do think I've found that needle Steve :) We took the car out for a couple of test drives at the weekend and it sounds significantly better and actually feels smoother. I'm beginning to think that...

    Marina Servo Mounting Dimensions

Compbrakemotorsport produce servo delete pedal boxes with dual master cylinders. I have contacted them and if I can produce a diagram similar to the one below for the Marina servo they can make one...

Re: Brakes - Single or dual circuit?

Interesting, I wonder how the competition cars get around it. Optimum break bias it dependent on the surface conditions and adjustable from the cockpit. The problem is that professional teams will...

Re: Brakes - Single or dual circuit?

That's definitely open to interpretation. I'll ask a couple of the guys who have got cars with adjustable bias how they got them through IVA.

Re: Brakes - Single or dual circuit?

It seems to be that the IVA testers probably are not requiring welding, that's probably offered as an example of how to meet the requirement, using lock nuts would achieve the same result...

Re: Brakes - Single or dual circuit?

Yes, but you don't have to go as far as welding them in place using a lock nut counts as well. This type of pedal box is commonly used in 7 type kits. The MoT inspector will be looking for an...

Re: Brakes - Single or dual circuit?

I'm considering updating mine as well. I found that a TR6 servo and master cylinder will fit, or at least I found a reference with pictures of such an installation in the Morris Minor forum where...

Re: Type 9 Gearbox in a Roadster

Yes, I agree this is not something that one can solve analytically. I have done a lot of reading and the wisdom from several sources says that the ford dive line should be angled down at 3.8*, that...

    Re: Cabrio Type 9 Gearchange

I would start with the clutch as "Ye Ol Ripper" suggests.

The gearbox oil can also have a bearing on gear engagement. It needs to be a synthetic 75-90 weight oil rather than the 80 we used to use...

It gets more interesting. I asked what angle the engine should be at on the turbosport forum. Apparently the carb should be level which tilts the engine back at 3-4°. In my case the carb is...
