Re: Fiat Twin Cam Timing belt change

If you do have to re-time it be careful of the auxiliary shaft timing as it can destroy the block if you get it wrong.

    Re: Propshaft for gearbox swap

When I swapped mine the propshaft was ok for length. I thing there is a 1cm difference in the length required and it was easily taken up by the sliding joint

    Re: Roadster Weight.

Mine was weighed on a local weighbridge in the 80s and came in at 550. More recently it was checked on my cousins brake tester and came out at 488. So maybe your dad was right ;-)

Re: Front wheel alignment / toe-in

Tracking does have an impact on handling. The ideal for a road car is as Steve says to have it setup so that as the car is in motion the front wheels are running parallel. With the Marina setup...

Sticky: Re: What have you done with your marlin today

It's been raining down south so I started on replacing the half shaft oil seals as they were leaking oil into the drums. Got the divers side done, hopefully I can get the passenger side done next...

I've always used it since I used it in the rally car. I get discount via the SKCC forum.

I just ordered some VR1 from Opie today... A bit more expensive that the Castrol Classic though!

    Re: Fuel Pumps

I've used the cube style facet pump. Be sure to get a genuine facet pump as they are worth the money. You can get them in different flow and pressure ratings...

On my Roadster the coil has been down near the radiator since I built it and haven't had any problems with it

    Re: Radiators

It was an HB Viva radiator as standard. A radiator remanufactured should be able to upgrade one for you.

  16. Re: Road Vehicles, improving air quality and safety-Gov.UK

I read all of this as affecting new registrations not as a retrospective change. This means that kits registered after the change will have to meet the current standards and this will be reflected...
  17. Re: Road Vehicles, improving air quality and safety-Gov.UK

There's an updated MOT handbook online and it seems to confirm that the situation is unchanged. It refers to the emission levels state on the v5 for newer kits...

I've got the same problem although it's all over the car on mine. Interesting note about the cover as mine spent time under a cover while work was being done on my garage.

    Re: Mk2 Roadster Heater Matrix

It took about 4 hours but I managed to get the new heater matrix fitted today. It took a bit of BFI to get the heater box out.
