Today I started up my Berlinetta for the first time this year.
Although it started ok it coughed and spluttered a lot, this a put down to stale fuel.
I believe that fuel has a short use by date,...
I never liked the way the wings where retained, so when I built my Berlinetta I bonded a length of angle to the underside (see photo) and bolted that to the supplied mounting bracket.
I believed...
Got a clean bill of health at the MOT today. Yippee
Will tax it from Monday
I can then go for a drive to test my eye sight.
Looking forward to some good open top motoring

If your axle is from an estate it is probably ratio 4.11 (as mine)
Other ratios fitted to Cortinas where 3.89, 3.7 & 3.44
I believe the estate was allso fitted with larger drum brakes.
I found...
Interesting, I have found this photo of a distributor with a shield?
The only other reference I can find is in the supplement section of a Sierra Haynes manual, that suggests it was fitted to fuel...
Has stated by Scott H, a lot of variables to take into account.

About 20 years ago, on one of my many visits to the local scrap yard, I acquired a bosch distributor, 2 control modules and most of the associated wiring loom form a Sierra.
These have been...
Nearly 30 years ago, when you only had to get a MOT to use your creation, mine failed 1st time due to not having some form of anti slip on the brake pedal.
No mention was made of the clutch pedal....
I picked mine up in September 1988, chassis no 1323 B.

Fed up of repeats of 'Wheeler Dealers' & 'Car SOS', Pubs shut now and told I shouldn't go out!
Last refuge THE GARAGE.
Now's the time to do all those jobs on the Berlinetta I've never got round too...
Thanks for the replies and some useful advise.
Looks like I'll be sticking with ethylene glycol antifreeze.
Been OK for last 30 years, so should be fine for the next 30.
After 30 years of use, I've decided to upgrade the coolant system on my pinto engined Berlinetta.
I'll be using silicon hoses and probably some stainless pipe (to route under exhaust to heater...

Can't really understand why your Berlinetta hasn't got hazards. Based on cortina 3,4 or 5 the loom will have had hazard flash curcuit.
You could check for unused relay blocks and switch connectors....
To check wether your head has hardened seats refer to Cabriobobs article posted in 2007. Ford Engines - Unleaded Fuel Info.
Might be difficult finding these heads in scrapyards, but the info still...
Been up in loft and found the following:
I bought 12 in 1994 from Beauford Cars (based in Upholland, Lancs)

They where self adhesive, I have had one come off, used the...
I'm going back many years. I have similar fitted bought from Beauford Cars ( are they still in business? )
