    Re: fuel filler neck

There are many variations. It will depend what fuel tank you are using, what filler cap you are using, what side is the filler cap to be and is the car Cortina or Sierra based? Did you receive the complimentary magazines sent to you ?

            Re: fuel filler neck

            Hi Artyis!
I have 3 (Cortina with Escort tank) Berlinettas and the filler cap is in slightly different places on all. I can send you som measurements if you wish (pictures are not one of my strengths). The most important thing I have learned (by mistakes) is that the more vertically the filler pipe runs to the tank the sharper the bend on entering the tank and the greater the risk for petrol to be squirted back at you every time you fill up.

                  Re: fuel filler neck

just for information - and following on from other threads Arty, if going for IVA, and using an engine with a cat you will need an insert to prevent the wrong fuel nozzle going in - so you can only fit the narrower unleaded nozzle into the pipe. Also, the fuel cap must comply with radius and projections regs, be lockable (mustnt be able to take key out whilst its unlocked) and/or tethered if its not a hinged cap. If recessing the cap into the body work (as I did to overcome the radius problems) then any recess must be capable of draining the excess fuel back into the tank - a funnel shape will work (I DIDNT and will have to redo that bit!).
