    What is this??

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wolseley-MARLIN-3685-Miles-/150735814048?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item23188dfda0

    I
    love the sales patter.....

"This vehicle is fitted with so many genuine age related parts to ensure authenticity.

A wonderful drive for a hot sunday run out.

NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the usual rubbish found for sale..."

        Re: What the........

Not seen it before, is it known to the club?
Probably overheats with a 3000cc engine.
Presumably the age related parts are 1971 vintage? Incidentally as its a Marina base, from what I can see, the donor car registration must be post April 71.
I was curious until my car was rubbish!

Age related parts? Why has it got a Q plate then...

Trade Description Act as Wolseley it ain't....or did Marlin get into badge-engineering as well...
Looks like a nicely-executed "trad" Roadster (if you like that sort of thing)...but a 3.0l...what on earth lives under the bonnet...?

This is the second time this car has appeared on eBay, about 4-5 years ago but it looked in better condition then.

Could be an E series straight 6?

                            Re: What the........

Unlikely...E Series (6 cyl) was 2.2 in UK & 2.6 in South Africa (used in the SA SD1 in lieu of the reworked Triumph 6 used elsewhere)...also used in some of the Oz Marina's (as well as the 1750 4-pot which filled the B series role over there). More likely to be a Ford V6..or even more likely a "typo" by the vendor...especially as the DVLA have it as a 1.3..!

Lots of slightly dodgy information that rather rubbishes the original information in the ebay advert.

Feeling a lot better about my car now.
