  • MGB Engine NUmber

    Hi

I have been looking at an MGB Roadster, can anyone decipher the Engine Numberand or the Commissioning Number.

    Engine Number - 18V582F-H16800
    Commissioning Number - G23N 027430 F

This car was bought in Ireland with an Irish Plate then re-registered at 'S'Reg.

It is a chrome bumper version with two 6 volt batteries.

    Any help would be good.

That number describes the chassis as an MGB Roadster built in Coventry circa 62-69

18V engines are post 1970 suggesting that either you have a lucky car built on the cross over period or the powerplant has been swapped?
