sportster bonnet...different measurements during the years?

i have 2 bonnets for my sportster , date of 1st reg 2002:

the one fitted to my car, another one, painted in the same color as the car and obviously being used, but it doesnt fit:

there is a gap of about 20mm on the front between the side-panels and the bonnet. if the nose would be 20mm lower the bonnet would fit.

has marlin changed the design during the production or is it possible to mount the nose in a different height or has marlin different size of noses?

Hi,
I built my Sportster in 2004/5 using the parts supplied by the factory.

The bonnet was difficult to fit - as it had to be cut on three sides. The only true side is the one against the side panel. As far as I am aware all the nose cones are the same size.

so it seams that the nosecone on my car has been rised, to gain space for a small front spoiler

whith the "other" bonnet, the car not yet had a spoiler fitted.
