  • What Vehicle

This a weird request; I bought one of the 1.8 Zetec engines from YKC which had never been fitted to a vehicle. I asked Don for a typical registration number but he could only say the engine WOULD HAVE been fitted into a 1997 Escort. I now find I cannot order parts because the parts departments ask for a registration number. So does anyone also drive a 1997 escort fitted with a 1.8 Zetec engine, if so would you mind giving me your registration plate number? If you reply and prefer please use r.392@:btinternet.com or here of course.

Have a look at Burton Power. They have lists of engines and can tell you where to find the engine number. This should allow you to find any bits for it as the number will tell you the date of manufacture. I didn't think that a registration number would help much as they are not always original. Engine number - that's the way to go.

        Hiya

I have always used AllParts in High Wycombe. They are use to me not giving a number plate and I just say what year and make of the original car. They are so helpful and haven't failed me yet. Have a go you will be surprised at what is still available. Adrian
